If the soreness is at the  lower part of your body particularly your legs and feet, sit down on a  firm surface preferably a good ergonometric chair with a backrest. Soak in it for not more than 15 minutes and not staying soaked for  more than that is important! The cold temperature compresses the  inflammation of your muscles and after applying it you should  immediately follow it up with a heating pad. The heat would then  stimulate your blood flow. If you don’t have a tub, you can use a cold  pad or wrap some ice cubes in a towel and hold it onto your sore  muscles.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Take some rest.&lt;/strong&gt; One of the simplest solutions to  care for your sore muscles would be to get some rest. Try to avoid  strenuous exercises or lifting heavy objects for as long as two to three  days. This would give your muscles the time to heal.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Take a pain reliever&lt;/strong&gt;. Taking a pill should be your  last resort. Taking drugs is sometimes very addictive because this  instills some idea in your mind that it’s a quick fix. Be aware that you  should do the other methods of caring for your soreness before popping  in that aspirin.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;Remember that during your healing process, you should take plenty of  fluids as well to rehydrate. Eat more protein and calcium enriched foods  to build up your necessary protein and bone strength. Pull your eyebrows towards one another in the direction of your nose. After five counts, push your eyebrows upward, lifting them as high as possible. Widening your eyes can help in this step. You will need to relax in between when the two alternating steps. This exercise can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines by softening them.&lt;br /&gt;  3. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Eyes exercise&lt;/span&gt;. Close your eyes in a relaxed manner. While in this position, move your eyeballs left, right, up and down. Make sure you are seated before doing this exercise. Another exercise for the eyes is this: Sit down. With head still and eyes open the whole time, look straight ahead for five seconds. Look to the left for 5 seconds, to the right for five seconds, upward and downward for five seconds each also.&lt;br /&gt;  4. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Cheeks exercise&lt;/span&gt;. Put your index, middle and ring finger side by side and push them towards your cheeks. You should counter this motion by smiling as wide as you can. This will raise your cheeks, and the downward movement of the fingers will tone this part of your face.&lt;br /&gt;  5. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Mouth and lips movements&lt;/span&gt;. Opening your mouth as big as you can, at the same time stretching lips as far out as possible, is an easy but very effective exercise. Another method is pretending that you are chewing bubble gum. Make sure your mouth is closed. By doing this, you can release tension in the jaw muscles. The last example of a possible exercise is positioning your lips to kiss someone very far from you. This must last for 10 to 15 minutes before relaxing.&lt;br /&gt;  6. &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Chin exercise&lt;/span&gt;. Sit comfortably. Look up at the sky or ceiling by tilting your head. Put your lower lip above your upper lip as far up as possible. Their puropse? To inspire impromptu public sing-alongs among strangers. The goal? To foster goodwill and social bonding among the people in the city, who may need a pick-me-up because of the recession and other real-world stressors.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It may sound like a lot of work and expense to procure 30 pianos, secure them in various locations, and protect them from the weather, all while complying with city ordinances and filing appropriate paperwork. It was. But the effect seems to be a great success: people around the city, people who otherwise tend to keep to themselves, shared music and goodwill, and found their days becoming a little brighter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm sharing this story with you because it makes me smile, and because we can learn something from this project, even if we don't have real-life access to ransom public pianos:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   1. Music really can be a pick-me-up, and can brighten your day. (Read more about the benefits of music.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   2. Feeling connected to others can also brighten your day. The 'Random Acts of Kindness' movement is still alive, and still bringing happiness to people. Happiness is contagious. Whether you are at work, school, or home, finding yourself unproductive is stressful indeed. So what could you do now to wake up from this nightmare? Handling your time is the best way to start. Here's how.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   * &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Know your priorities&lt;/span&gt;. Check out important matters and give your attention to them first. Writing down your schedule for the day will help you. There are several ways to do curls:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   * Sit at a curling bench with a number of different holds on a bar.&lt;br /&gt;   * Sit at a curling bench with dumbbells.&lt;br /&gt;   * You can sit on the edge of a bench with a dumbbell and curl with an elbow on one knee.&lt;br /&gt;   * Stand with a straight bar and use your torso to elevate your weight.&lt;br /&gt;   * Stand with a dumbbell in each hand and do curls with both hands.&lt;br /&gt;   * Do pull ups with one or both arms, or pull yourself into a beam while leaning and using your body weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A combination of some of these modes of exercise may be the most effective solution to that day's workout.  If you have a training log, write down what works best each day and your mood.  You can tailor the building of strong biceps to your mood each time you work out. You can really figure out your own workout style this way.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps one day you will find that you are not in the mood to actually go out to a gym, but you still desire a good upper body workout which strengthens your biceps. Find a column and pull yourself into that.  This is fun, easy, and it works well.  Maybe you have just had a cardiovascular workout and are too tired to stand and do curls.  Sit and do curls to continue your workout with an upper-body cool down workout.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Building strong biceps&lt;/span&gt; means regularly working out your biceps.  To properly work them your biceps, you need variety.  A variety of bicep strengthening exercises keeps the trainee interested in the goal, which is to strengthen the biceps.  Perhaps you may discover a unique way to strengthen your arms that feels comfortable to you or that you find engaging. Their claim--the water you and your family drink may be contaminated. It's a very serious claim, especially as it threatens the safety and health of the entire family. Be alerted if these properties are abnormal. Normal water is odorless, tasteless, and colorless. Try to let each exhalation last nearly as long as the inhalation that preceded it. But in the weight room, it's a muscle action that strengthens the middle part of your trapezius, one of your back's biggest muscles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;The movement:&lt;/span&gt; Pull your shoulder blades (scapulae) together in back (retracting them). The exercise: any variety of row -- seated using a cable machine; bent-over with a barbell, dumbbells, or T-bar; or standing, pulling a cable down to your face. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Latest retraction:&lt;/span&gt; For something a little different, try the bow and arrow, suggests Craig Ballantyne, C.S.C.S., a strength coach in Toronto. Attach a stirrup handle to a high cable pulley. Stand with your right side facing the weight stack, as if you were a left-handed archer. Grab the handle with your left hand and hold it in front of your face, like a bowstring you're about to pull back. Now pull it back and to the left using midback muscles, pause, return to the starting posi-tion, and repeat. Do one set of 10 to 12 repetitions with each arm for starters. Add one set each workout, to a maximum of three sets. This will build strength and muscle mass in your scapular retractors.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Arm Yourself&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your arm muscles aren't isolated hunks of meat. They work hardest in conjunction with bigger, stronger upper-body muscles. "If you want big arms, do chinups and dips," says Alwyn Cosgrove, C.S.C.S., a strength coach and owner of Cosgrove Results Fitness Training in Newhall, California. "The rest is fun, but it's just details."&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Dip tip:&lt;/span&gt; If you can't jump right onto the parallel bars and knock out a set of dips, start with bench dips. Sit on the edge of a bench or chair, palms alongside your hips, fingers pointed toward your legs, feet flat on the floor. Straighten your arms so your butt comes off the bench, then bend your arms as you slowly lower yourself (in front of the chair) until your upper arms are parallel to the floor. Pause, then push back up. When you can do more than 10, progress to parallel-bar dips.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Chin music:&lt;/span&gt; Most men can't do chinups. The kneeling lat pulldown is an exercise that helps you get there. Attach a straight bar to a high cable pulley, grab it with a shoulder-width, underhand grip, kneel on the floor, and then pull the bar down past your chin. Gradually increase the weight and decrease the repetitions until the weight's so heavy it pulls you off the floor. Now you're ready for the chinup bar.&lt;br /&gt;Pack Your Chest&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;The exercises&lt;/span&gt; that use the most muscles build the most muscle. That's why bench presses are better than flies. "Adding 100 pounds to your bench will put on way more mass than anything else," says Michael Mejia, C.S.C.S.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Bench it up:&lt;/span&gt; Everyone knows how to do the bench press: Lie on bench, grip bar, lower bar to chest, and so forth. But few pay any more attention to their foot position during bench presses than they would during sex.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Try this:&lt;/span&gt; Imagine that you're doing the exercise standing up. Set your feet in a wide, athletic stance. And push out the repetitions as if you were throwing the bar to someone standing in front of you, rather than lifting it off your chest. The extra vigor in your execution will result in extra inches on your body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Be a Leg Man&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you know how to squat, you can get an entire lower-body workout with one set, says Tim Ziegenfuss, Ph.D., C.S.C.S., an exercise physiologist and nutrition researcher in Wadsworth, Ohio. You use 200 muscles to walk; you'll hit more when you squat with a barbell across your back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Squat till you drop:&lt;/span&gt; Here's the drill: Warm up thoroughly. Select a weight you think you can squat for 10 repetitions. Now squat as many times as you can with that weight. When you can't do any more, stand and catch your breath, then do single repetitions until you get to 20. (These are sometimes called "breathing squats," since you're allowed to breathe as many times as necessary between repetitions.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;The key:&lt;/span&gt; The weight stays on your shoulders until you've finished all 20 repetitions. Merely watching and being conscious of a single inhalation and a single exhalation, a complete cycle of breath, can work miracles. This may sound ridiculously easy and simplistic but on so many occasions, this simple meditation has lifted me out of dark situations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   1. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Take a comfortable position&lt;/span&gt;. The best way to start any breathing awareness exercise is to lie down on the floor on your back. Your legs are straight, about eight inches apart and dropped open, completely relaxed. Your arms are straight, with your hands about eight inches from your hips, palms face up. If this position is uncomfortable or painful for your lower back, place a rolled up blanket under your knees. Place a thin pillow under your head, enough to keep your forehead slightly higher than your chin.&lt;br /&gt;   2. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Scan the body&lt;/span&gt;. First just scan your body, from toe to head, and feel every part of yourself relax deeply. Let every part of your body be supported completely by the earth. Especially relax your face and your sense organs.&lt;br /&gt;   3. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Begin to focus on the breath&lt;/span&gt;. In this deep state of relaxation, begin to notice your breath. Continually bringing your attention back to your breath is the main practice. To help you do this, begin to watch the completion of the exhalation and the natural pause at the end of the exhale.&lt;br /&gt;   4. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Extend the pause at the end of the exhale&lt;/span&gt;. Spend at least 10 minutes completing your exhalations and slightly extending the natural pause at the end of your exhalations for one to two seconds. If at any time this exercise brings tension, go back to just scanning your body and observing any place in the body that is binding or uneasy.&lt;br /&gt;   5. &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Winding down the practice&lt;/span&gt;. After 10-15 minutes of this breathing practice, return to normal breathing without any manipulations. Come back to simple conscious relaxation for about five minutes. Bend your legs and roll to your right side and then use your hands and arms to push your torso up to sitting. This simple breathing exercise will help you become more aware of your breath all day long. Your breath is always in the present moment, so by observing your breath it will bring you to the here and now. Especially when you are irritated or angry, returning to the breath will become a sanctuary, the eye of the hurricane.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Other Tips:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    * During the day, pick something to remind you to come back to your breath. Sometimes I pick something irritating like the ringing of cell phones to remind me to take one conscious breath. Throughout the day, when I hear a cell phone, I am reminded to return to my breath. This centers me and returns me to balance, even if it is only for a second. Little by little these seconds compile into something significant and at the end of the day I have succeeded in being free of so much stress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;    * Additional focus during breathing practice. You can further the effects of this breath work by visualizing that you are receiving golden light every time you inhale and that you are becoming amazingly light every time you exhale. Also, relax your neck and head as you inhale and lengthen your body as you exhale. Your inhale can absorb all the vibrations of the present moment while your exhale can return you to profound silence. Your breath is one of your most powerful tools in achieving and sustaining peace. Learn how to utilize this ally through daily attention to your breath. Take it slow and be consistent in your observations and experiments with your breath.
